Varova-Priestley Euro Trip

A day out in Bellagio

We didn’t really have the time to appreciate the view from where we are staying last night. But this morning, we woke up to a spectacular scene. Photos just don’t do it justice.

Had a great time just wandering around Bellagio today. Italian streets are nothing like what we know back home. Houses and apartments are built at the edge of the road, and there is no footpath in between. So walking along a street is all about keeping to the side, and hoping the crazy italian drivers don’t cut the bends too much.

Around town there were many hills that we walked up and down. Once we got to the Lake, we were met with some more spectacular scenery. The composure of this photo left a little to be desired, but it is probably my favourite for the day.

And here is the actual lake.

A bit of a scout around town, and then decided to head to the other side of the lake for Lunch. Menaggio is apparently where George Clooney lives. We didn’t bump into him, so instead we took a photo of these rockstars.

The architecture and the buildings around here are so great. It amazes me how some of the places here were actually built.

A couple more random shots for the day…

This photo doesn’t really capture the steepness of the massive mountain we climbed to get back home. Bel laughed at me and said it was only a hill. I’m happy to compromise and meet in the middle, and call it a small mountain.

Part way up the small mountain, I stopped to catch my breath admire the olive trees. I’m quite surprised they were in focus… I was huffing and puffing and could barely hold my arms still.
